We didn't know that you were family
until 1930. You were like a half sister
no one knew about
till old court papers were uncovered.
Rarely did we inquire
about your health, your dreams.
Even now you grow smaller
in our eyes, no longer a planet.
There are even rumors that you
were always illegitimate!
Are we embarrassed by a family member
who lives impoverished
among rock and ice?
I think of you making your way
alone, our family as foreign
as the Czar's.
How my heart goes out to you,
Sis...your world dark, cold,
and so ridiculously far
